Spokane Things to Do and Quality of Life
Why Consider A Move to Spokane? Several Reasons Why We Like It
The unique character and natural beauty of the Spokane area is ideal for singles, families and retirees alike. Just to the north beautiful rolling hills of farmland and estates and the nearby forested mountains. to the south more rolling hills, farmland, and estates owned by the wealthy. Cliff top homes. Amazing views.
Located in the notably less soggy Inland Northwest compared to Seattle on the oceanic side of the state to th west, locals enjoy all four seasons albeit with spring and fall being shorter in duration. Parks and waterways are abundant while the close proximity to Central Washington, Idaho, Montana and Canada provides endless getaway options. You don't need to travel far for higher learning either. Spokane is home to Gonazaga University and Whitworth along with two community colleges and various technical schools.
Spokane Weather/Landscape
Spokane's natural beauty drastically improves as you get out of downtown Spokane. Spokane's real beauty is in the surrounding countryside, mountains, and national forest and the nearby plains. Don't miss...
Spokane has weather much drier than the coastal Pacific Northwest. Annual rainfall is half that of Seattle. Forests are largely made up of pine trees and other more arid thriving trees and plants. Despite the lower preciptation totals, snow is typically abundant in the winter. That said, the Cascade Mountains provide a rain shadow effect protecting Spokane from the heavier rain and drizzle of the PNW while the Rocky Mountains to the east shield the area from more frigid temperatures coming from Canada.
Spokane Outdoor Things to Do
In town, Riverfront Park is the place to be for excellent viewing of the rushing Spokane River, walking, biking, jogging and seasonal Ice Skating. Winter brings skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to Mt. Spokane. Spring through early fall you can try your hand golfing, paddleboarding, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and even rock climbing. The countless collection of lakes, rivers and hills are available for you to explore and enjoy however you choose. The City of Spokane offers many activities and classes year round to get you out into nature and learning something new.
Spokane Indoor Things to Do
Spokane is rich with various indoor activities, many of which can be enjoyed year round. The Spokane Theater offers a wide range of shows to peruse from Broadway musicals to Heavy Metal concerts. The Museum of Art and Culture and the Bing Crosby Museum offer an interesting addition to any afternoon. You could try your skill at a local escape room or explore the historical Davenport Hotel where Amelia Airhart once stayed. Northern Quest Casino located just to the west in Airway Heights is an adults playground where gambling is optional. Enjoy a concert or show, check in to the spa for some real relaxation or head over for dinner and a movie.
Spokane Festivals and more
Spokane has no shortage of festivals to come together as a community. Artfest happens yearly in late spring for a full three days of artist boots and demonstrations, beer and wine gardens and live music. Hoopfest is annual must attend event where participants play basketball 3 on 3 competing to win. Bloomsday is another highly participated events. Folks from all over the area meet up by the tens of thousands to walk, run and skate through historical neighborhoods dressed as silly as they can. In additon to yearly events, fundraising walks and auction galas offer a way to get involved and for a good cause. Read More:

Thinking About a Move to Spokane?
We move people to or from Spokane and across the United States. Our 5-star reviews on Google are all hard earned 100% real reviews from real customers. Our approach to a professional move is to treat every move like a luxury home move. We wrap and protect furniture, artwork and antiques and when custom crating is needed we can include that as part of your move. We are not a van line and you have the peace of mind of personalized service where only your items are shipped on our truck(s) and not co-mingled with multiple other shipments going to different parts of the country.
Fast Delivery and a Personalized Moving Experience
We deliver in 2 - 5 days depending on the distance. That is much better than the two week window (or longer) the national moving companies are known to offer customers. At the same time, because we are Point A to Point B movers and do not transfer loads at warehouses, you don't have to worry about low paid dock workers handling your fragile items and expensive furniture.
That is one reason the national moving companies are plagued with insurance claims. Items are at a lot more risk of damage or even theft when being transferred to other trucks at the warehouses ran by the national moving companies. On top of that, they charge higher rates for large home moves and in comparison, we can sometimes beat them on a cross country move by several thousand dollars.
